Toronto Modern Fireplace TV

This modern fireplace and TV family room was part of a major home renovation that we completed last month.   The scope of the project was very large including building out this new fireplace and TV/wallunit.   The complete space is more than 12 feet wide but the design makes it look complete by incorporate a cabinet doors on the left side with a grey ledge running along the bottom and then a sleek fireplace with tile surround running from the floor to ceiling with a TV in a centrepiece.

Sliding Barn Board Door by TorontoCC

This sliding barn board door designed and renovated by Toronto Custom Concepts is another example of us incorporating a traditional sliding barn board door and tying it into a very contemporary home renovation that we just completed.   The sliding barn board door is the entry way between the home-owners office and their living space.   The door was stained in a dark charcoal colour to complement the black millwork and trim that we installed thru-out the home.

Oakville Staircase Renovation

We did this Oakville staircase renovation as part of an entire home renovation in early 2017.  The original staircase was changed to incorporate a new fresh look so the staircase was finished with black stained handrails along with black newel, tread and nosing.  The staircases have a nice blend of tones with the stunning white balusters and white stringers for a nice contrast for this contemporary home renovation.

The double staircase ran from the second floor upstairs to the main floor and continued down into the basement.   Great job by the crews who tag team on this Oakville staircase renovation!

Toronto IDS 2017

Last week we attending the opening night at the Toronto Interior Design Show...The show was another fantastic event showcasing the latest in home design trends and materials.   Here are a couple of our favourite pictures.

Saw this awesome accent wall wine bottle storage and display system.  Need to incorporate this into one of our future projects.

Dave's favourite is this outdoor BBQ grill from Kalamazoo Gourmet Grills.  It allows you to BBQ your steaks with an Argentinian Style wood fired gaucho grill.  This grill allows precision height above you flames for 100% control by leveraging the stainless steel wheel and adjustable tray.

Happy New Year in 2017

Wishing everyone a healthy and prosperous 2017!

We here at Toronto Custom Concepts want to wish you all the best this year!

Toronto Kitchen Contractor

Toronto kitchen contractors who can both accommodate the design & build of your new kitchen along with the necessary renovation services and experience to build out your kitchen properly to avoid any costly change orders that may come up along the way is the best consideration a home owner can make when deciding on how to proceed to renovate their kitchen and/or home.

Toronto Custom Concepts often sees our kitchen clients try and go a cheaper approach on selecting a kitchen contractor only to find out the hard way that cheap sometimes is MORE costly in the end than taking into account all factors from the beginning.

Toronto Kitchen Contractors

Think of this when you are evaluating kitchen contractors...make sure you ask very specific questions about previous projects where they have encounter some issues and challenges and ask how they addressed them.  Ask about situations around working with existing mechanicals such as plumbing, electrical or structural issues and how they addressed those issues.   Many kitchen contractors low-ball an estimate just to get a job but they have alternative intentions by 'change-ordering' their clients down the road, so ensure you ask about their change-order process.   Also ask if your kitchen contractor offers a fixed bid estimate opition with a percentage allocated for overage to limit your cost exposure and risk.   If a kitchen contractor can not properly estimate a job within 10% then that puts you at much more risk for project challenges (all things considered aside from unforeseen issues that come up out of the contractor's control).

Toronto Custom Concepts works with you by clearly communicating to you various design considerations and potential issues that may arise in advance to set the right expectations.   We will even help to provide you with a list of considerations to ask any kitchen contractor to make sure your kitchen renovation project will be a success!

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays

As we wrap up another great year at Toronto Custom Concepts, we wanted to wish all of our family, friends, employees, partners, vendors, designers, trades and customers a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!

Toronto Staircase Companies

TCC partners with the top Toronto staircase companies when it comes to entire home renovation projects that require new staircases to be installed in where we have removed the old staircase.  We have completed many renovation projects in which we have both opened up a main floor for a new staircase and we have also closed up a main floor opening with the installation of a new staircase.

We can either do the new staircase installation ourselves or we also partner with a select group of partners who specialize in staircase wrought iron fabrication for pure custom one-off designs.

Backsplash Tiles

We are super pumped about getting these stunning new backsplash tiles.   They are a marble mosaic backsplash laid out in a vivid diamond pattern.   Since we love these ones so much, we bought some for ourselves :)

We will be installing these in our Oakville showroom.
Come by and take a look!

Toronto Wall Removal

This Toronto wall removal project included an entire first floor of a 2 storey having all of its interior walls being removed.    As you can imagine, many of the internal walls were load bearing, so we had to work with our engineer on the new drawings and the City for the permits/inspections.   The net result of opening up the entire 1st floor outside of upgrading the staircase, was to incorporate 3 massive I-Beams, multiple LVLs and some steel posts in which we were able to nicely conceal.

Oakville Custom Furniture

Our Oakville custom furniture collection has seen this beautiful addition added to it.   This custom one-of-a-kind live edge walnut hutch has perfectly mitred corners.    The live edge profile runs down both sides of the furniture unit in a stunning waterfall design that allow continuity from all angles of the piece.    The wood is offset with white glass pull-out drawers and cabinet doors.   The glass shelves are frameless for a very contemporary look.   Talk to us about your next custom furniture project or just stop by our Oakville showroom to discuss your custom furniture idea.
