Conference Show Week Wrapup

After a full week and a half, we were able to cross off attending the Organizers Direct dealer conference in Scottsdale Arizona.... From there Dave was able to hit Las Vegas for the amazing National Kitchen & Bath Conference along with the IBS Builder Show.  From there back to Toronto for the IDS Show at the Toronto Convention Centre....

Great meeting with old friends and making some new ones and learning about the latest trends and seeing the latest product offerings from suppliers in the construction industry...Now it is time to get back to renovating!

Shower Tile Inlay

This shower tile inlay job from Toronto Custom Concepts showcases a glass shower enclosure with stunning 24" x 12" porcelain wall tiles laid vertically.

Then embedded within the pattern is the shower's glass tile inlay to give the shower some more texture and character.  It is a great accent feature that helps to draw your attention to it, yet it is not too over-powering of a shower inlay whereby the design is here today and gone tomorrow

This built-in shower seating unit provides a comfortable area to relax safely while in the shower.

The shower seating area is both stylish and practical, so that shaving your legs in the shower could never be easier.  The design also is useful for when you want to take a long hot shower but not stand upright for 20 minutes doing so.

Built-in Storage Unit

Just completed this built-in storage cabinet in the Rosedale area of Toronto.

As you can see in the upper left corner of the built-in unit, we needed to take into account the angle of the sloped ceiling.  The transition from the top part of the the unit to the angled side needed to look seamless and nothing drastic to draw your eye to it.

Bathroom Sink Storage

When designing a floating bathroom vanity, one must consider how to conceal the layout of plumbing pipes while still maintaining a modern or contemporary look and feel to the bathroom vanity sink area.  Bathroom sink sometimes have a difficult time offering ample storage while sacrificing space while maintaining a a certain design.  Here is one bathroom we renovated where we came up with a creative solution that preserved a certain aesthetic look while still providing hidden storage for bathroom supplies... The four side clips allow easy access to storage while maintaining the design style of the vanity...Check it out!

Mirrored Exercise Wall

Installing a mirrored exercise wall offers a workout area with a functional purpose as well as both a decorative and design element as well.  Mirrored walls expand the space and give the illusion that the room is double its size.

Floor to ceiling and wall to wall mirrors need to measured exactly and there is no room for error. Measuring walls, ceiling and floors that are not perfectly square and level make this a very tricky request, but as you can see from this Toronto basement project, this mirrored exercise wall is the perfect accessory for those who are looking to keep fit!
